I'll come home for about 26 hours and leave again
for another week at something else. Fun, huh? So maybe I'll see you in
two weeks. Adios.
I still had quite a bit of fun. I now have late-night kitchen-raiding
privileges, which I used to acquire chocolate milk, cookies, Apple Jacks,
cookie dough, apples, ice cream, and carrots. It pretty sweet the stuff you
can find at 11:30 at night in a walk-in fridge/freezer. On our camp-out
everyone decided it would be a good idea to eat flaming marshmallows, which
needless to say ended badly. I also pitched the tent on a slight hill (there
wasn much of a choice) and woke up on the door in pouring rain. Very fun?See
ya.

Edit: And now I'm going back for another week to work there. I just
found this out... Should be fun again. You can reach me on my cell
phone if you like. I may not answer right away but I can probably call
back later in the evening or something. Or you can text me. Have a nice
week again.

Apparently I leaving for some sort of staff training thing
at camp all next week, so Il be seeing you guys when I get back. Too bad we
didn get to hang out before my departure, but some of you know all about that?

I finally got my organic strawberries! Hooray! I also have
some peas and romaine lettuce, but I really only care about the strawberries. Very
rewarding having picked them myself.

The beach was fun on Wednesday, especially ultimate Frisbee.

Wow, I just went backwards in time?/p>

Okay, see you next week or something. Adios.

I must have forgotten in all the excitement.

World Cup. Australia is playing Japan right now. It seems like every
Japanese player is a foot shorter than the Australians; they just
bounce off the Australian guys.

I hope everyone is doing well. Have a nice day!
I want to jump - I'm so scared
I want to swim - don't want to get wet
How do I get to You - what do I have to do?
I want to pray - I need sleep
Don't want to sow, I just want to reap
I know what You're going to say: there's something in the way
Will it ever end, this war inside me?

I'm just so glad
That when I can't, You can
And where I end
That's where You begin

Only exams left...then summer. Hooray! If anyone wants to do anything, call me anytime. I'd better go study now. Adios.
Heck, I can't score when
there's a crappy goalie in the net. And I definitely can't score when
there's a player on me and a good keeper. I give up.

Edit: I tipped it over the crossbar. Still can't score...
Sunday, May 21, 2006

I suppose an update is in order. I found this on the Internet and decided to post it for lack of anything better to say:

AN OPEN LETTER TO TEACHERS

    Welcome !!

We entrust to you our brats.
We expect you to discipline them where we have not. But
do it in a way that won't make us angry.

    Keep our children entertained.
They are bound to get restless. They watch a lot of television,
so they aren't very good at entertaining themselves. School
bores them because they can't flip channels.

    Some of us are ardently
against abortion. Others of us are pro choice. Some
of us demand school prayer. Others demand no school prayer.
Some of us are Christians and hate atheists. Some of us
are atheists and hate Christians. Please reinforce the
correct moral views to our children who are in your care.

    Feed our children well.
We don't have time to give them breakfast at home, so they are
quite hungry when lunch time rolls around.

    We understand that teachers
are human beings and have days when they are depressed, not feeling
well, and just plain have the blues. Never show that side
of yourself to our children. We want them to believe the
world is always a happy place. Smile.

    Teach our children that
America is always right, has always been right and that now is
the best time to be alive in the entire history of man.
Of course, we don't believe this stuff anymore ourselves, but
we want our children to believe it. They will read enough
  negative things in the newspaper.

    Remain in control at all
times. Our children will yell at you. We will call
you up on the phone an yell at you. We will go to the school
and yell at the principal about you. Please stay calm.
  Someone has to go.

    Accept the great responsibility
that has been given to you. If our children don't learn
to read, it will be your fault. If they come out of high
school having no idea what they want to do in life, it will be
your fault. If they don't go to college and flunk out,
it will be your fault. If they can't find a job, that will
  also be your fault.

    Be perfect. Lord
knows our children see enough imperfection in their homes.
Somebody has to set an example.

    And please don't gripe
about money. Really now, you get three months of vacation
away from the brats. We have to have them around all year
  long.

Yours truly,

  The Parents

On this day in history:
427 B.C. - Plato was born.
996- Sixteen year-old Otto III is crowned Holy Roman Emperor.
1927- Charles Lindbergh touches down at Le Bourget Field, in Paris,
completing the world's first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic
Ocean.
2004- Sherpa Pemba Dorje climb Mount Everest in 8 hours 10 minutes, breaking his rival Sherpa Lakpa Gelu's record from the previous year.
considering I didn't study for it until this morning...although I'm not
at liberty to discuss the multiple choice questions...ever...because
the College Board people have microphones everywhere.
Afterwards was pretty fun, even though Brandon's
keycard didn't work so we went to Subway for nothing. At least it was
"meatball marinara Tuesday." And Marilyn's was okay too. Who would name
an ice cream place after Marilyn Monroe? Did she even like ice cream?
Kinda weird...
And now I've realized that I have a mucho grande
amount of homework tonight. Chemistry is way over my head. How is it
useful for me to know where an electron is? If John Dalton or Niels
Bohr were just aching to know, then that's fine, but I don't want to
know. I am much more content to learn things that will actually help me
in life. Unless I go into nuclear physics or something like that, I am
not going to use anything that has to do with the location of an
electron. It's not like some bum on the street will ask me to solve his
problems and I can say, "Oh yeah, well the S-orbital of the Tungsten
molecule will help you with that. See ya." If anyone can come up with
an everyday use for the knowledge of the location of electrons, I will
personally shake them by the hand.

This day in history:
1994: Nelson Mandela is inaugurated as South Africa's first black president.
1986: Tenzing Norgay, who, with Sir Edmund Hillary, was the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest, died.
1989: Christy was born. And you know that's a monumental day in the history of the world. I'm not joking.

Have a nice day!
